About Kofi and Pawel
In this part of the world, one gets to meet really interesting people…
Saturday afternoon, my friend Alexandre and I were waiting for the bus that will take us to the outskirts of Geneve. We then noticed this group of men in suits walking towards us. I was wondering why they were all dressed similarly when suddenly I noticed the guy right in the middle of the group. Then, I heard Alexandre scream, "Is that Kofi Annan?!?!?" We just stood there paralyzed and we were in their way! The Secretary General of the United Nations had to go around us in order to walk a few meters more to his car! Poor guy…he was staring right at us! I think he was wondering who the two schmucks were with their mouths agape.
Then, we have my roommate, Pawel, a young Polish law student. He has two girlfriends, both very pretty and very nice. I watch with interest how he juggles his schedule with the two girls. I also watch with interest how he seems utterly devoted to the two girls and how they are also utterly devoted to him. Gosh, I feel like I am living in a soap opera! I keep my mouth shut since Pawel throws out the garbage, cleans the kitchen and makes wonderful meals for his girlfriends and shares these meals with the rest of the apartment too. Great deal for keeping silent, actually.
This place is quite interesting. It can be boring, but it is interesting.
